Thanks DVS

We've had quite a history with our friends over at DVS.
It started long before this old photo from 8 years and 30 pounds ago.
Prior to that, they were the backers of Tampa Am and Pro. They also worked with us on our first ever custom shoe. We've been thanking Gabe there for over a decade. We've also been around the world together. These days, they bring Daewon and their crew to SPoT and make the Spring Roll that much sicker. High five Gabe and the crew over there for yet another hookup at SPoT: All DVS stuff is 30% off now through this weekend. Thanks for the memories yesterday and tomorrow, DVS.

Johnny's Bananas

Coming to SPoT Skate Shop Ybor are the Nike SB Entour...err...Nontourage Dunks aka Blackouts. This is a sneaker that has been anticipated for over a year, and with all the drama surrounding them it seemed as if they would never actually release, written off by most as one of those sneakers they will never get to own. Well, after a few modifications and removal of the Entourage branding, they are finally here. Although I prefer the initial design, I am not upset with the changes. The main visual change is on the soles, but I gotta say, the gum bottom really works on these kix. I also like the change from white to gold stitching of the “Nike” on the heel tag. They are a combination of two different textures of suede, with a leather swoosh and heel tag. The price is $98 + tax, which comes to about $105. Look for these to hit SPoT Skate Shop Ybor in super-limited numbers at noon on a day in the very near future. UPDATE: They hit and they're all gone.

Heard You Had the Fever for the Flavor

If any of these kids grow up and turn pro and get the classic interview question, "What was your first photo in a magazine?", they're going to have to say, "Well, it was when Rob Meronek made fun of my haircut." Watch for our Bieber Fever ad in this month's mags. While I was uploading headshots for the last contest here, I couldn't help but notice the crazy pattern of swishy cuts. I wonder if the direction of the swishy matches their stance? I mean, you're going to totally wreck the swish if you got it swishing left and you're regular, right? Man, it's so hard being a kid these days.
Throwback Tuesdays

This throwback goes out to Jason Dill and all his stylish contributions to skateboarding. Dill's been putting out amazing parts for a decade plus and is still going. Each part always represents a new era of Dill if you will. Whether it's the clothes he's wearing, the tricks he's doing, or the spots he's skating...and sometimes even the lack of spots he's skating. Dill is always ahead of the game. Some might even ask, "Is Jason Dill the style icon of skateboarding?" After the below photo came out the Slap boards went off, with one user coming up with this. Is Jason Dill to skateboarding what Jerry West is to basketball?
